So it's Sunday morning and I'm about to run out to the grocery store. I ask my husband, "do you want anything special for today's football games?" (plural of course- because he has a game every 4 hours starting at noon- of course!). His response- "can you pick me up some bagel bites"? Bagel bites! You mean that frozen snack I used to eat when I was in elementary school with those unusual looking cheese bits on top? Does he not realize I'm on a quest to conquer "home cooked" deliciousness?!
That in turn meant- I challenge myself to make this snack into a homemade version. I figured my husband would have a "healthier" snack to munch on while still having his childhood favorite to enjoy. Not to mention, this could be a great recipe mom's could throw together for their kids afternoon snack. So while I was surprised at my husband's grocery request, I ultimately was excited for the challenge and thought readers might appreciate it too!
In the end, they were extremely delicious and reminiscent of the childhood snack we used to look forward to eating. The bagel had a slight crunch with a soft doughy center and a slight spiciness from the diced pepperoni bits. This recipe requires only a few ingredients and only 10 minutes to prepare. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and lining a baking sheet with tin foil. Cut your mini bagels in half and spread them evenly onto your baking sheet:
